ashibut Old Feathers Made New - Our Guild had a challenge for 2000: using a pattern that existed in 1900, make a quilt for the year 2000. We were given 3 neutral/beige fabrics to be included, and we could add some of our own. I had never seen a Princess Feather pattern on a black background, & thought that might be a modern touch. I added the gold centers, and realized more color was needed. The vine border was made by piecing together lengths of left over bias cut for bindings of other quilts. There are too many leaves in the border to count. It is hand appliqued and hand quilted.
