Snow falling in New York - Check the first Snowflake for the story of this saga. However, this project with 2500 - 3000 pieces would never look like it does without the help of a TQS member Becky Kelher from Colorado. To do one of these flakes required a very specific fabric that was produced 10 years ago. She had it stored in her treasure chest, and very kindly offered it to me along with all she had from the same family of blues. We met on line here after my first flake was out. The fabric series was called Serendipity, and indeed it was just that kind of a relationship. This was a 8 month project. The quilting was done with invisible thread, as I just couldn't bear to take away from the art of piecing.
