Capergirl God Bless America - The Applique designs came from Vintage Classics, Lisa DeBee Shiller and I adapted the pattern from the McCalls "A Nation's Pride" to fit all of the children's pinwheel blocks . The 3rd Graders picked out reproduction Civil War fabrics from my collection and we sewed together using thangles (so easy). I sewed the center flag and they placed their signed squares around it. Borders were added and the applique designed sewn on. The back of the quilt had a reproduction print of the Declaration of Independence. This quilt was sold at our Saint Francis of Assisi School Auction.
