Design Source - Description | I just finished this quilt, and shipped it off as an entry in the 2009 Hoffman Challenge. It took 5 months (working 20-25 hours per week) to complete. I created it using fusible applique, with decorative stitching, and paper-piecing. My design was inspired by photographs I took of the Water Lily garden at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. (Though I only realized my inspiration, after I designed the quilt, and noticed it's colors look like the ones in the photos I had taken). (Update 8/7/09: Good news - I just found out my quilt will be in the 2009 Hoffman Challenge traveling exhibit!) |
