stone soup challenge - This was a stone soup challenge from my local guild. I was given the two pieced squares, the large button, the green fabric on the right, and the fabric used int he pinwheels. It took awhile to decide what to do. The background fabric is pieced. The pinwheels are 3D. The detail on the houses,( Roofs, trim, etc..) are raw edged fused applique. I freehand drew the birdhouses. The flowers and vine is also raw edged. The bird is not my pattern, I found it in an old magazine, it is needle turn applique. There is thread painting on the flowers. The lizard is an old, plastic toy from my children. The dragonfly was a 3D thread applique I made. It was a lot of fun.
