Celebrating Service - I wanted to make a quilt for my son-in-law to commerate his 20 year retirement from the United States Army. I saw a few similar country flag squares and patterns and decided to use a patchwork flag as the center of the theme. I wanted to note all the Army bases he was posted to and the overall design grew from there.
