quiltnc Mountain Sunset - This art quilt was made by machine-needle-punching various fabrics to a hand-dyed background of cotton fabric and batting. The dark green hills are a thick velour, and the mist and clouds are combinations of sheer fabrics, silks, and roving. The trees in the foreground are rough-cut with no pattern and needle-punched down. Angelina fibers add some sparkle. Machine-quilted on DSM. This sunset view is one of our favorite places in the North Carolina mountains.
