Design Source - Description | Inspired by photos taken during a trip to Lake Como, Italy April, 2007. Base of quilt consists of 2"squares then fused applique which was stitched down w/monofilament thread in a zig-zag stitch. Textile paints were added to achieve an impressionistic look. Free motion simple quilting was done to not take away from image. Some of the fabrics are batiks and variety of commercial cottons. I made this quilt while I was living in Mexico City, Mexico DF. I have a few versions of Lake Como, Italy quilts in progress. Will upload these quilts when completed. |
