Tore's Journey after Rene Magrite - After finding a photo of my grandfather in a "bowler" hat, I decided to make this quilt in the style of the artist Rene Magrite. My grandfather floats down over the surface of the Swedish flag into the United States. The crowns (tre kroner) represent Sweden, Norway, and Denmark or the three countries that came together in a peace pact. The yellow cross of the Swedish flag becomes the path for Tore, my grandfather.
