Tulip Happy

Tulip Happy - My friend Judy had appliqued these blocks in the early 50's as a teenager. These tulips were made from floor scraps provided by her aunt worked for Mode-O-Day. I thought it was such a waste to have these beautiful tulips sitting in a box, so I asked if I could take them and create a quilt for her. This was the result. My greatest challenge was to create a layout that successfully dealt with the pastel and bright color tulips. I was fortunate to find a fabric for the sashing that worked with both. The coral posts gave it the punch and structure that it needed.
