Design Source - Description |
The pied hornbill is quite a common bird where we live, but very distinctive with its large toucan like casque. We had a pair in our garden for a while last year and I photographed them and then created this design of the male hornbill. The design is constructed using invisible machine applique with batik fabrics on a printed ombre fade background and quilted with a leaf pattern in two different shades of variegated cotton thread and a random pattern in the border. |
