Lady Liberty is a Midwestern Girl - The New York Beauty blocks were made using Karen Stone's Lady Liberty Goes to Hawaii pattern. My friend Patti and I wanted to make a queen-sized quilt as a wedding gift. We loved the looks of the pinwheels but we got very, very tired of making them before we had enough for the big border! Many of the fabrics reflect the interests of the bride and groom--cats, shoes, guitars, saxophones, music.
