Design Source - Description | This quilt celebrates 40 years of friendship between Laurie and me. Laurie lived for many years in Hawaii. Malu Lani means "protected by heaven" and was made to warm her as she continues to successfully battle cancer. I used Stacy Michell's technique for the applique and blanket stitching, echo quilted each block, and then assembled the quilt. Postscript: my dear friend died in January 2010; still protected by heaven. |
