Design Source - Description | I used Beth Wheeler's technique to print the icon of Saint John the Evangelist on fabric. I then quilted the piece using a variety of rayon threads. I did some highlighting with white Jacquard textile paint. I made this in honor of my big brother's 65th birthday. John the Evangelist is his patron saint. This image is from the 19th century and was painted on wood. In the picture you can see an eagle, which is a traditional symbol of Saint John. A close-up is on my profile. |
