Quilteer Sweet Dreams John - I saw this in the Fons & Porter magazine and discovered a month later that my first grandchild was on the way. The Bessie Pease Gutmann pictures caught my eye and I was thrilled to see that one of them was the picture that hung in our daughter's room when she was young. I started buying fabric and planning the quilt before I discovered that I had twin grandsons on the way, so back to the store where some frantic searching took place since some of the original fabric was no longer there and I had no time to look elsewhere! There are several subtle differences between the two quilts (e.g. James’ quilt has blocks with blue background in the border, while John’s quilt has blocks with beige background in the border). The quilt was completed in May 2006. "John” is machine embroidered across the bottom, on a sashing strip.
