Gramp's quilt - I made this quilt for my Dad, using my own hand dyed fabrics. I have used a machine embroidered applique technique. I think the designs are from Sew Swell. I like my quilts to have things hanging from them, so for the sashing squares (if that's what you call them) I cut out squares using my pinking scissors, and then sewed them on using a satin stitch and variegated thread. This quilt is a lap size, and has black polar fleece on the back.
