IN MEMORY

IN MEMORY - The original quilt was called "In Memoriam". It focused on using small squares to create an image which was a cross with a rainbow effect. I adapted the image and translated it to make on gridded fusible interfacing. Similar to the way that watercolor quilts are made. I have made three so far with only one more needed right now. I give them to family and friends that have suffered losses. The 1st went to a mother who lost her 13y/o son to asthma. On the rear I had a picture of the teen transferred to fabric with a message of comfort. The mother really treasured it. I never met her I guess you can say I was commisioned by a friend. (no charge) The 2nd was for my mother in memory of grandma. On the back I used fabric from a blouse that I saved to embroider the memoriam. The most recent is for a girlfriend who lost her mom a few days before Christmas. I have the mother's blouse as well. I do this to bring comfort and hope for those with losses and comfort myself in giving.
