English Gardens - This quilt pattern was given away free at Jo Ann Fabrics in 2002 to go along with a coordinated series of fabrics used in the quilt. It was my first quilt and my sister, who had quilted for many years, did not tell me that it was not a beginner project. I did all the cutting and piecing and had help from my sister on sashing, borders and binding. I'm glad I didn't know when I decided to make the quilt, that it was going to be very difficult because I love the quilt and I'm so happy to have it. This pattern did not include any rotary cutting or strip piecing, just templates. I developed a few short cuts of my own, using ideas I'd seen on Simply Quilts.
