Design Source - Description | When I wanted to make a charm quilt to mark the new millennium, I did not want to collect 2001 fabrics; Sharon Newman remarked that the quilt did not have to have 2001 fabrics, just what I wanted to include. Therefore, this quilt has a piece of every print fabric that I owned, including some fabrics from my maternal grandmother's stash, and some fabrics that were donated by friends, a total of 1124 print fabrics. It took a while to cut the fabrics and decide on the design, so it was not finished until much later. The longarm quilting was beautifully done by Lona Schwab of Midland, TX. This is one of the quilts that I am proudest of, a memorial to quilters in the past, a momento for the future. |
