katherinequilts Grammie Loves You as High as the Stars - This quilt was started with a scrap piece of fabric at a technique class using The Circle A Round book by Cheryl Phillips and the Cut around ruler taught by Diane Monde at Aurora Sewing Center in E Aurora NY. I can't bear to waste anything so I quick printed off some pictures of planets and selected the Jupiter fabric from my stash. I did that circle in class and the rest I places and did on my own. The little circles are fused. I used Ricky Tims Sparkling thread for the orbit and left it off of Pluto since this is no longer concidered a planet! This was my first big atttempt at free motion and I did swirls with my daughter, her husband's and my four grandchildren's name hidden in quilt writing. I used a smoke clear thread.
