Design Source - Description | This quilt is a trip down memory lane as the machine embroidery (designs by Cactus Punch) depicts scenes of some typical activities of children of yesteryear. The nine patches and the border pieces are of 1930's reproduction fabrics. My mother told me how her mother used to trade feed sack fabrics with other women to have enough of the same design to make a dress for her. I also used to watch and help my aunts put together feedsack quilts at my grandmother's house. The one I remember the most was a beautiful 'Dresden Plate' pattern with hand blanket stitching embellishing. Happy memories! |
