anilee Northern Lights 1 - I created this for the MN Quilters Show Challenge in 2006. I was inspired by an image in a Dover book titled Bevels and Jewels Stained Glass Pattern Book by Ed Sibbett, Jr. The top is a mix of batiks and gold metallic ribbon. The challenge was to create a piece using the fabric packet and other fabrics I added. The Challenge title was "Sew Many Northern Lights." The batting is Warm & Natural 100% cotton. The back is a multi colored hand dyed by Stephanie Forsyth. It did not win a ribbon, but I will keep trying.
