Design Source - Description | Heceta Lighthouse is located on the Oregon coast. This is a raw-edge applique postcard. I began with a digital photograph and created a pattern on my computer by drawing the features I wanted to include. Embellishments include free-motion stitching to create the details of the hillside rocks and plants, and satin stitching for the waves and the details of the lighthouse and out buildings. For the fence I used a decorative machine stitch. I created the postcard back by printing on fabric for the information about the postcard front, and stitching the lines for addressing and the postage stamp. Binding is a single layer. |
