Florentine Window

Florentine Window - Raised with the tradition of the Episcopal church, I was always inspired by the stained glass windows of the church's great cathedrals. Raised by talented sewing mom, I made this rendition of a fabric gothic cathedral window. The name of the fabric was Florentine. With "fabric too pretty to cut into", a nearby stained glass artist provided me the shape of the gothic window. I centered the pattern and fussy cut the window, machine appliqued it to the black ground fabric and added prepared gold fusible 1/4 bias. Quilting was the easy part as the design dictated the quilting.
