kayahr June 2006 Celebration - The block is from Carol Doak's Yahoo Quilting Group when she started it in June 2006. I made one block way back then and found it too difficult. But I couldn't have all that work go into an orphan block! A few months later, after some paper-piecing practice, I decided to make four more and put them together. I'd had enough by then and put it away for "the future." Time passed and I remembered the quilt as having lots of purple in it. A year or so later, I got the purple quilt out to finish. Purple? -- well, only a teensy-tiny bit in the center squares as it turns out. So it became known as the NOT Purple Quilt. Then I did pick up the tiny bit of purple and put the purple border on. Finally totally finished on March 16, 2007.
