Design Source - Description | Materials/Techniques: I was at a retreat and somebody had brought a bag of pre-fused scraps. I had some handmade paper with me and wanted to see if the texture would come through fused fabric. It didn’t. SO, I was left with this pretty 8.5”x11” sheet of fused fabric scraps. I was reading “Creative Quilting: The Journal Quilt Project” and saw a piece where somebody did reverse appliqué and I liked how the color of the background fabric came through. However, instead of fabric for my top layer, I used (Lumiere paints) Peltex, on which I traced and then cut out a pattern from a photo of a circular staircase. Quilted with mono filament on top (gold poly on back), bordered and backed with a commercial solid, bound with commercial batik. |
