Design Source - Description | I drafted the blocks based on a picture of my grandmother with the last quilt she made, which was for my oldest son's wedding. Her blocks were 18", while I made mine 12". Like her quilt I set it without sashing or borders. Hers was hand quilted while mine is heavily free motion quilted on a domestic machine. It has won two blue ribbons, one red and a Viewer's Choice at local quilt shows. It makes me smile whenever I look at it and remember my Grandmother who instilled in me the love of creating things. |
