Design Source - Description |
My family and I had moved to Florida in July and my husband told me I didn't have room for a fireplace in our new home. I started piecing the top they day after Thanksgiving in 2004. I would work on it one section at a time, taking it to the local quilt shop (Creative Stitches) and throwing it on the floor to toss other fabrics on top of it until I found exactly what I wanted a few fabrics at a time. I became known as the fireplace lady. I hung the finished top on the wall December 22, 2004 and added 22 home made stockings to it representing the children and our grand children. I told my husband to never tell a quilter they don't have room for something because we will find a way. |
