"Fishing at Yellowstone" - This quilt is based on a photo that I took on a trip to Yellowstone Nat. Pk. a few years ago. It is done using mostly raw edged machine applique overlayed with some tulle and sheer fabrics for shading. The bison are hand painted right onto the background, the elk are hand painted then fused on, and the fisherman is hand painted then hand appliqued on. The quilting is done with 30 wt. rayon. This piece was a gift to my husband and also won Best of Show and People's Choice in a local quilt show.
