I made this quilt for Dori, a friend who lives in the town where my husband and I met. I don't know why, but I thought she needed it, and sure enough, she was in some marital problems, which she confessed in her thank you note. The four corners--the Patience blocks--represent her four children. Love is central to her life. She does everything with passion: schoolteaching, raising kids, keeping up with friends. There's a star in the design to represent Dori. She told me she picked up the parcel at the Post Office, and was so delighted that she stopped several neighbours on the way home to show them the gift. |
