Made in May during the quarantine this year, Emily Taylor's May Day quilt is another collage wonder. On a quest to create some beautiful flowers in fabric, Emily felt that she finally nailed it with this one. Utilizing pieces of fabric smaller than her hand, Emily used the foundation panel technique to create the values and dimensions seen throughout the quilt.

Inspired by and paying homage to her hometown of Salt Lake City, Woodlands is Emily's most recent quilt. Done in her trademark collage quilting style, you feel as if its centerpiece squirrel is almost going to come out and greet you.

Congratulations to Cynthia England for her quilt Reflections of Cape Town (68" x 72"), the Best of Show at Houston 2016.

Cynthia writes about her quilt:

“I was fortunate to teach quilting in South Africa. While there, we took a side to and visited Cape Town. This picture was taken in a fishing village there. I loved the bright colors and the reflections were something I wanted to try to recreate in fabric. I am constantly amazed at the beautiful places where quilting takes me. This quilt took about a year to make and has approximately 8400 individual pattern pieces in it.”

Created using TAP, or Transfer Artist Paper, Lynn Koolish's Water Lilies (14" x16") is actually three images in one. TAP is an iron-on transfer that allowed Lynn to take three different images and make one singular image, providing a matte look that printing right onto fabric wouldn't provide her. The finished result is an image that looks like it was made with water colors rather than just a couple of pictures.

Featuring circular designs created with ApplipopsMaybel is the name of both this quilt and Pokey's airstream trailer. Pokey named it after a goat that she saw on Instagram that was pregnant with four kids. To her, the pregnant goat resembled the shape of her airstream and now this quilt adorns the trailer wherever it travels to.
