Based on a prompt of 'time', Lisa took a photo of a stairway in Edinburgh, Scotland and the first thing she thought of when she saw the worn steps, was how many thousands of feet had walked up and down those steps over time. From that thought and photo, she created this quilt, One Step at a Time.

Lisa's quilt, Gaudi Star, was inspired by the mosaics of Anton Gaudi in Park Guell in Barcelona. The screen printed design on all the fabric was based on the paving stones also designed by Gaudi. The star motif was then quilted onto the piece and then overpainted with transparent fabric paints to allow the tile designs to show through. It measures 58" x 58". Click here for more info.

Lisa lives in Australia which is an extremely dry continent. Most of the population lives around the edges as the center is not really fit for human habitation. However, they still need to eat and the farmers are constantly battling the elements of droughts and floods. This quilt is called Breaking the Drought #2 (as she already made an earlier one) and it depicts the rains finally falling and hopefully sending water to where it is needed.
