BERNINA Educator Nina McVeigh created their Block of the Month 2018 quilt to help improve piecing and quilting techniques. It was created with Alison Glass fabric. We love the use of color against the gray background.

Watch Nina in Show 2505.

We love the simplicity of this silk log cabin block enhanced by the beautiful complexity of embroidery stitches in Not Your Grandma's Crazy Quilt by Ruth Chandler. We are also entranced by what almost appears to be "ruched" binding.

This is Ruth Chandler's first quilt, Thistle Haleakala, that she made in 1991. It's a queen size, hand quilted, hand appliquéd Hawaiian quilt. Isn't that what everyone does for their first quilt?

Watch Ruth in Show 2504.

Mottainai roughly means "too good to waste" or "waste not, want not". All the pieces in Lisa's quilt have been recycled, including bits from a kimono.
