The chat rooms are there, and it's up to members to make them active. Timing will always be an issue (we are a global community) and so will other commitments in our lives. For example, I only have time to check new members' blogs when I'm on holiday. I always check 'chat' when I log in, then go to 'daily blog', then to 'forum'. After that it's normally past my bedtime. Sooner or later there'll be somebody in 'chat' and I won't get enough sleep as a result. :)

I finally gave up on the chat room. I think it's no longer active.

I'm in bed by 9pm, so that won't work for me. I take my lunch at noon each day, EST so if anyone wants to talk then, I'd be happy to chat.
Also, I'm on in the mornings from about 6am to 9:30am EST.

thanks for the reminder. I saw it yesterday and entered a chat room then and again today. No one came in, but I was there if someone wanted to chat. I used to log into a room when I logged on, then I just kept forgetting to do so. I'll try to remember again.

I use to check the chat site before returning to the USA; I never found anyone in the chat rooms. Now I spend so much time blogging and reading blogs that I've totally forgotten to even look at the chat rooms. This is a good reminder; maybe you should mention it in a blog also. It seems everyone's into blogging and has forgotten chatting :)

time for chat 10 Nov 2008 16:25 #28218

I assume since you live in Virginia you mean EST so I will try to check in tonight at 8:30 CST unless our dinner guests are still here. Ann

Snow, I've been thinking about your question as to when would be a good time. It's difficult to answer since I work, but in general, I think about 9:30 - 10:30 pm EST on weeknights, and maybe sometime in the middle of the afternoon on Saturdays and Sundays. I think I'll just start checking during those times several times a week, and see if others join. A good honkin' quilt chat with no worries as to spelling, grammar, or quilt police can be loads of fun!

does any one chat anymore 09 Nov 2008 23:11 #28181

I try to remember to check the chat room when I log on to TQS but I too have not found people around. Once in a while I am lucky and get to chat with someone. Maybe if we set up a couple of times a day that would work for us we could log in at those times. I cannot always chat every day but usually two or three times a week I have the time during the day and often at night I have time. What times would work for you and I will see if that works for me. I've only actually been in a chat a couple of times, but I love it. Maybe if we had a set time?!?
Happy Quilting,
