Wow! Thank you all so much for your lovely comments. As for where it will live - for now it is folded up away from the dog, cat, two teenagers and a DH who keeps walking mucky boots into the house.

At the moment it measures about 94" X 94" because I added the red sashing strip and made the borders 10 1/2" so it's almost big enough for our Kingsize bed. I could add another red border but I am not sure I want to because I like all the air in the border. My biggest worry is how to quilt it without ruining it. I don't feel ready for it yet so I will probably just fold it up and put it away in a bag until I feel equal to it.

Rita! Your quilt is absolutely beautiful, congratulations!

As for the binding, I was surprised to read that it is single fold, and on the straight of grain (actually, I think it is on the WOF?), and 1/2 inch... I think the 1/2 inch is preferable with the decorative stitches? Should we chose to do it on the bias, then we might consider making the decorative stitches on the Straight of grain, and when cut at an angle, the decorative stitches would be at an angle. Just need to make sure that when we join 2 strips (at an angle), that the distance between the 2 lines are consistent. (Do I make any sense?) Anyway, it needs experimenting....
