I used this method in other projects. This results in crisp edge, and just wont move. Can't wait to see the instructions and your video! Andrée

sewmarti OFFLINE Posts: 157 Thank you received: 93	This is the method I first learned from a local quilter named Donna Vogel many years back. I think it gives very sharp, neat edges for appliqueing down.

The pattern and my video won't be available until tomorrow, but I wanted to share this applique tutorial with you that I just found:

I'm now thinking that this would be a better way to make the template for the background circle than the method I demonstrate in the video!

Here is a photo of the original quilt where the stars are reverse appliqued into the background fabric using the blanket stitch:

Here is my star block where the circle is pieced into the background fabric. If I had made my circle template just a little larger, the tips of the star points would have been better, so keep that in mind when you do yours!
