TOPIC: Teeny Tiny Cutting Mat

Re: Teeny Tiny Cutting Mat 15 Aug 2011 22:34 #68102

I wonder if I would lose track of the "Sewessentials." Has happened with the mini multi-tool the my guys got for me. But the multi-tool was smaller.
Back to the point. I believe I saw a small OmniGrid mat at JoAnn Fabrics & Crafts on my last trip through one of the bigger stores. Was about the size of a 4 inch x 6 inch notecard. You may be able to find it on their website: joann.com
Hope that this helps.

Can you imagine trying to close the knife? I would have blood everywhere!
Does the knife set come with a first aid kit?

To answer the original question...I have a small cutting mat that has holes punched on the side to allow it to be carried in a 3-ring binder/notebook. The mat was very inexpensive. I purchased it in the scrapbook or craft area of a store. (It has been more than 10 years ago - so I have forgotten the source.) I believe that Fiskars is the brand name of the mat.

I always cut the good pieces off a much used large mat and so don't need to buy smaller ones. Works for me.

Libbi, I'm glad you found what you wanted. Lorra, that's a great idea. I managed to iron on my large cutting mat in a senior moment.  If I can salvage part of it that would be a great help. :)

Thanks everyone. I bought a small cutting mat used for scrapbooking along with a small ruler that will fit in the hoop.

Do you have an old cutting mat that is no longer needed. You could possibly cut off a piece from it and make it the size needed. I had a small mat that my daughter left in her car and it warped from the heat. One end was still good, so I cut it off and use it when I don't need a larger one.
