Sharon -

I think the motifs looks wonderful where they are! I think they would also look wonderful swapped -- it's so great how there are so many ways to quilt a single quilt. Your feathers are beautiful!

I'm currently planning on going to the show on Thurs, to meet up with you and Linda. I should be able to do dinner on Friday, it that's how it works out. I'll just have to keep the dog in the car, but it shouldn't be too hot this time of year so that should be okay.

It's lightly snowing up here, but nothing is sticking.

Sharon your quilt is so lovely. What a lucky aunt to have someone near and dear that can make such a lovely and meaningful gift.

Sharon the quilt for your aunt is just beautiful. All of your decisions seem to work wonderfully. Can't imagine it getting even better.

This is exquisite. I think you made very nice decisions on placement of designs...no second thoughts needed. :D

Nancy, I really appreciated all your input. It did turn out great. Hannalore messaged me yesterday and she is counting the days now and getting very excited to meet us. As it gets closer the plans will get clearer. I know Linda and I will be going on thursday, but I was kinda hoping we could all do dinner on Friday, but will certainly work with your and their schedules. Just a thought. Are you getting snow up there, nice rain here.

thanks everyone for the lovely comments on the quilt. So here are a couple of closeup pictures. I made several tracing paper templates to play with and decide what to do. I had the cross hatching on the corners and now wish I had kept it that way, because even though the feathers look nice, they aren't my favorite on the quilt. I also wonder if I should have gone back and hyperquilted on the feathers, too. If the cross hatching had been on the corners I think I would have liked the feathers more. But more importantly, my aunt loves the piece.

Sharon, What a lovely, lovely piece of work. The teal enhances the original beauty of the piece and your work makes it such a treasure. Hope I am still interested in redecorating my living room when I'm 89 years old. Your work and your Aunt's spirit makes me smile. I'd love to see greater detail too.

That is beautiful Sharon! I particularly love the curved cross-hatching. What a lovely gift, no wonder your aunt was speechless. :cheer:
