What a stunning quilt! You'll have to share your work on this, LadyRags.

Awesome Nancy,
I looked at Mountain Mist patterns and a couple museum books but did not find - good sleuthing!

I remembered that it was some sort of cross block, so I searched on that. It looks like a cross, doesn't it?

Oh well done Nancy! How did you find it? I found her website where you can buy the pattern - here's a link if anybody is interested:

I think this is a really unusual block. I have never seen it before and I just looked through Jinny Beyer's 'Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns' which has over 4000 patterns and it is not there as far as I can see. I really like it and can see that it could have very different effects depending on the fabrics used. Will you let us know if you find out what it's called? Thanks for showing us. :)

I like it - don't know the name though. Perhaps you could try looking through all the blocks on
Quilters Blocks Galore
to see if you can find it. Warning - there are about 60 pages to browse through.

Sorry. I don't know. But I like how it is quilted in overlapping circles.

We are trying to figure out the name of this block from an antique quilt... does anyone know?? Have been looking it up in Barbara Brackman book and on block base but so far no luck.

What technique would YOU use to make it?

I am thinking paper piecing after we draft the block on graph paper... I think there are Y SEAMS in it ...
