Had a bird problem, too....but they are good-sized birds...quail !! and can take out a window sometimes !!
I have lg windows opposite each other, so now I always keep the horizontal blinds open but tilted slightly so they
don't think they can fly thru.!!! We love to watch them...flocks!...little topknots bobbing away !
Dare I mention... : Quail breast is pretty good dinner fare.

Lois, I am a grandma too, but a rat from 1948. It said I was tidy! I guess they didn't see my house or sewing room.

We had the same problem. It was lethal to some birds so we put up silouettes of preditor birds on the windows and a lifelike replica of an owl on the roof. That settled the problem.
