Good luck BJ, don't forget that there is also Sue Garman's classroom lesson on paper piecing the feathered star which might help too. Jacqueline deJonge's quilts are just so amazing and to do it without having to tear away the papers has to be a good thing. There are so many clever quilters out there. Good luck with the next project. Rita. :D

Don't forget show 911. The way it's done without paper in the seam allowance is unique and very good. I turn my stitch length down to 1.5 and have the upper tension on 3 on my Bernina 440. Use thin thread like So Fine, Bottom Line or Master Piece and you're good to go. Good luck in your next attempt.
Great, Norma, now I know what past show to watch next. Thanks for the suggestions as to threads and tensions. :D

Today I rewatched Alex's Show 809: Paper Pieced Perfection. I watched it because I'm trying to overcome my frustration with paper piecing since I am thinking of using it in one of my competition quilts I'm designing now (Storm at Sea). I loved that show. Alex explains it so well. I bought her book and I plan to go try making a quilt or two using this method in my continuing effort to improve my overall techniques. Thank you Alex! I love the colors and fabrics you used in those quilts. The pizza looked wonderful too. :D
