If you are in the UK the product you are looking for is called 'domette' and is used for interlining curtains. If you are unable to find it at your nearest curtain fabric shop you could try here http://www.whaleys-bradford.ltd.uk/product.htm?productID=222 they have it in white, natural and black. As well as a whole heap of other wonderful fabric supplies.

Glad to have something to offer for a change, normally I'm absorbing everyone else's advice and experience!

The Warm Company (which makes Warm and Natural quilt batting, Steam-a-seam, etc.) makes a product called Warm Window which is basically a batting and backing specifically made for insulating window shades. I've used it to make several roman-style shades and have been very pleased. Here's a link: http://www.warmcompany.com/wwpage.html

Hi,
I am about to make a quilted curtain for my daughters front door measuring 3' x 6' 8" we have bought the fabric and need some batting (not too heavy) and one that can be washed if needed.
It will just be a single length of fabric, batting and backing which I will quilt.
I am going to put rings at the top for hanging onto hooks and then it can be taken down in the summer.
I would appreciate any ideas on the sort of batting I should use.
