I have 4 quilts in progress that I will be finishing this year. The last border on my Great Nephew's "Traffic Jan" quilt for his 4th BD in April. Will be machine appliquing the white strips in the gray road this weekend. Have 10 out of 20 blocks of machine appliqued and embroidery done on Jenny Haskin's "Sharman's Vintage Garden". Have the last 2 borders to make the in the hoop blocks for the Hoop Sister "T-N-T" quilt for my DH' s BD in Sept. I am finishing the last hand applique block on the '2008 ' Sue Garman BOM quilt and hope to start the half sq triangles this month. My Art Quilt group will be making 12x12 inch quilts bimonthly this year for a show in Dec. so have to have one done by the 18 of Jan. I set goals on my calendar to help keep me on track. Due dates even tho the pieces may be only for me.

Back to the twin toddler quilts I broke away from quilting to write this! Oh, oh! Excited! Motivated! Let's get rolling! Get r done!

UFO'L bigtime. We are remodeling and everytime I have to shift my quilting stuff I find ufo's I forgot and they aren't even that old (I used to work an extreme amount of time). I am unemployed and yes I am working on specific quilts, but the ufo's gotta get done. I too, plan on being a thinner quilter. My goal is 4 lbs a month. In a year that will put me at my goal. I am also working hard at FMQ on my Janome 6600P

I resolve to make a quilt for our bed this year. I've been collecting wolf, fishing, horse, and other outdoor-type fabrics and panels for the whole 2010 year. I'll be making this quilt to fit our California King bed. It will be the next project after I finish the UFOs for our upcoming show. Finally, a resolution I can keep! :)

I'm enjoying the end of this hand-quilting. I'm not sure I will ever again take on another quilt this large -- stick to baby quilts!

But hand quilting is very relaxing and quite Zen-like.

I just keep looking at the fabric and patterns i purchased in Houston and wondering when I will give in to that urge to start whacking up some more fabric!

Beth, is it more important to you that it's all done by hand, or that it's finished? There is no law that says you can't do both hand and machine work on the same quilt!

Finish quilting and binding the sampler quilt I started in year 2000! It has been sitting (basted) in my family room for years. The kids have used it and it really needs washed, but I haven't finished quilting it yet, so there it sits.

The quilt was a BOM from Joann's and I foolishly decided at the end of piecing it to hand quilt it. (1) It is too large for a first hand-quilting project. (2) I was too excited about quilting to spend the next year doing nothing but that.

I just got a Grace quilting hoop / stand in Houston, and I am working on it now and enjoying the process. I always did like hand-quilting, but can't seem to stay away from piecing long enough to finish a project this big.

For 2011, I want to just be able to finish everything I start, and if that means, I start fewer projects, so be it. I am learning to work on multiple projects at one time. This has been an extremely hard transition as I function best in a linear way - one thing at a time.
So far, my proposed projects:
(1) Have an entry for Houston for the first time - it's done, just needs hand embroidery and a sleeve.
(2) Complete my "New Quilts from an Old Favorite" entry long before the deadline in November
(3) Make a wedding quilt for son and future DIL - they have been engaged for a year, I bought the fabric, designed the quilt and I will start this when they finally set a date! (No use spending good quilting time for something that won't need to be finished for 10 years.)
(4) Work on more small projects that are not all quilts. I want to acquire a serger - probably next week - and do more home dec and gifty kinds of things. I had so much fun making Christmas gifts this year and I want to get a head start on next Christmas.
(5) Make more bed quilts for my home. I am tired of freezing at night.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy and great quilting year and completes all their projects!

Oh well, we'll go to the happy farm together, Eileen  I love Kim McLean's designs, too, but I don't dare go there this year! There are soooo many quilts I want to make, it's hard to focus on just one, or even just three ...

Overcommitted? Why, Miss Robin, I don't even know what you mean!

I just posted over in the quiltiing from the soul forum that there are really only 3 biggies for me this year.

Ruffled Roses, Kim McLean's Roseville Album, and my Dear Jane. Other than that, I'm doing a UFO of the month challenge on Judy Laquidera's blog.

Overcommitted? No............. Probably need to be committed? YES!!!

Yes, it sounds like Eileen is definitely out of her slump. :D She was, however, giving me a bad time about being over-committed, which I am :? and now it sounds like she's doing the same thing  Oh well, we'll help each other, Eileen!
