TOPIC: Quilt LIfe ... will it sell on newstands--Questions

26 Feb 2010 01:59 #43897

Thanks Calico, sounds good! :D

I'm at a Embroiderers Guild workshop today but OH is on alert to text me if a magazine arrives from the US.

The weekend..... if it arrives, more time to read it but if it doesn't arrive, less post and an even longer wait.

Do you think this is just because it's the first issue or are we always going to be weeks behind? I have posted letters that take less time to arrive in the US than ones I post to over here!

It would actually be very frustrating if the magazine would arrive tomorrow. I'm so busy at work at the moment that I wouldn't be able to sit down with it and really enjoy it from front to back. So it's quite ok to take a few more days to get across the Atlantic.

Amanda, you could always make a quick journal quilt and called it 'Waiting for Quilt Life'.

Amanda, I hope you get yours very soon. It IS an excellent magazine. And I went back to have a peek at which question was yours. Good question, and the answer is even illustrated! Fingers crossed on your getting it by tomorrow.

Well the Jinny Beyer fabric I ordered last Wednesday arrived today... but still no Quilt Life.

We've known since November that one of my questions was chosen by Jinny to answer in the magazine. To say it's a little frustrating would be an understatement.

I received a digital copy in a downloadable PDF file. It's printed out, hole punched and in a notebook ready to read at my convenience. I've already read a number of the articles and am looking forward to receiving the next magazine in the mail. And I was surprised to see my comment on page 12 from TQS responses.

I received my copy on Feb.20th and have been slowly enjoying it.Good articles and I agree with Barbara(bar7700) about the matte finish paper. It feels good and is easy on the eyes.

:D I received my TQL yesterday afternoon and I love it! It even feels good in my hands. Nice quality paper and superb articles! Well worth the short wait! I read it twice and probably will do so again this week! Now, I can't wait for the next issue! Think I'm a little spoiled or impatient?

I just checked my subscription receipt from yesterday and discovered it has a user name and password. So I am able to read the magazine on line. It's too late today to do so but I'm sure I will be reading it over the days ahead.

I went to two different Barnes and Nobel stores this week and neither of them had it or heard of it yet. They said not all the stores will get the same magazines. Darn! Karen

I have received my first issue and it is great! It is definitely a keeper. If you really want to have the first issue, you may consider contacting AQS and purchasing the first issue separately. You will have to pay the newsstand price plus postage.

If you have waited until now to subscribe, you will NOT be receiving the first issue as part of your subscription. I asked for information about store locations (from Sharon in the subscription department) and I was told that they have been so busy with orders that she did not know which stores in my local area ordered copies.

I got my Quilt Life magazine in the mail! Whoo Hoo! Have only made it to page 41. Lots to read! I LOVE the pages. No shiny slick pages. They are a matte finish. Very easy on the eyes.

The Barnes & Noble here doesn't have it yet. I was a little lazy about sending in my subscription and thought I'd just buy it off the shelf, but yesterday I changed my mind and now have a subscription. Hopefully I'm in time to get the first magazine. I will keep looking for it at the stores though just in case I'm too late.

That stinks Ladybugquilter. When I got my bill in the mail from AQS, it said to expect the magazine by February 25. While I did receive mine last week, the 25th was probably a safe projection for them so as not to raise expectations. I bet you'll receive yours within the next couple of days. If not by Thursday, then I think I would call.
