TOPIC: Quiz on the daily blog

Having fun with block names 26 Sep 2008 20:54 #26561

Although I have a slew of books (except the coveted "encyclopedia"), I've searched through my sampler books for one thing. So far I've had an inkling of the name so I Google that name. I found several websites just using pieced quilt blocks in the subject matter. So far I was able to identify 8 of the blocks on my own.

I'll join you, Judy. I have always loved the old blocks, but the names, however interesting, have not been so important to me. The result: Very few answers.

So, I have a choice for tomorrow: I either go and swat over quilt books to find these names, or I go out my my kids and celebrate my older son's 30th birthday. Mmmmmmhhhhhh............. My son wins!! :)

Quiz on the daily blog 26 Sep 2008 19:41 #26558

Boy, am I having trouble with that. I haven't been quilting that long and have never seen some of the ones that are being shown. Some of you mention that you looked them up to see if you are correct in your answers. Since there are no rules, just showing up, I think, where are your sources? Do you all have books or is there a website that is your source? I don't have the quilt block encyclopedia at my disposal but would like a little help if anyone can provide me with an idea of where to look. Thanks in advance. Judy in AZ where inexperience rules
