TOPIC: The Prayer List

Re: The Prayer List 15 May 2012 21:11 #80732

Praying for Morgan, the twins, and Doris.
And am happy to report an answer to prayer. Chelsea's graduation and her speech went off without a hitch yesterday. I was so proud. And Tucker behaved perfectly. Chelsea and I leave with him in the morning for Michigan. He has to be back at Leader Dog at 9:30 on Thursday morning. It's going to be heart wrenching to give him back - for both of us - but mostly her, obviously. So, prayers appreciated for our travels and our states of mind over the next few days.

Update on teeny twins: all things considered, they are doing okay. The specific prayer now is that their heart valves would close and that the bleeding would stop in their brains. Mom, Jen, was able to hold one of them on Mother's Day. Thank you so much for praying.

I'll pray that Doris has a safe trip and that she can settle back into Canadian life smoothly.

Prayers for all...
Would also appreciate your sparing a thought for my dear sister-by-life Doris, who is embarking on a new journey today.
She's given up her job, packed up her home of the past 25 years and shipped most of it back to Canada. Now she's on her way to Antwerpen, Belgium. From there she's taking a freight ship to the states, the making her way to Canada... Find a new home & a new job so that she can be closer to her family, and most importantly, her aging parents.
Safe travels, Doris! I will miss having you here! Wishing you a safe, fun, relaxing but interesting journey home and just know you'll make many new acquaintances and friends en route. Enjoy!

Eileen,
Such good news for Keri! Do you think that maybe it could have been lymphoma but God saw fit to heal that before it was even properly diagnosed? Just thinking it could be possible. Our human thinking says, of course, that it must be incompetence on the the part of the doc/lab, but sometimes God does work in mysterious ways. At any rate, I would imagine she'll take EB over lymphoma any day and I'm glad she is getting a second opinion. Keep us posted and we'll keep praying and praising!

Eileen, indeed how scary! (I never know how to spell that word)

I agree, I think of many of you frequently, wonder how all are doing with their own personal crisis taming, and say a wee prayer for a general peace for all of us!

I apologize for my absence on the forums. Life gets in the way on so many levels, I'm sure you all know what I mean :)

First, I want to thank Robin for asking for your help. Even though we've never met, she's a good and dear friend, as are many of you. I know your prayers are reaching our Awesome and Almighty God.

Now, to the latest news. Last week, Keri had a lymph node removed from behind her right ear. This past Wednesday, the dr. called with the preliminary pathology, and said it was lymphoma. When we asked if it could possibly be anything else, she said no. So...we tried to wrap our minds around it and gathered our forces to fight this. Along comes Thursday; I get this call from a furious Keri telling me that the dr. called and said the pathologist came back with a diagnosis of Epstein-Barr!

Needless to say, we're relieved but angry. Keri's going for a second opinion, because if this lab was wrong once, what are the chances of being wrong again? She's going to find some new drs. as well. This all started back in October, with an infected lump in the front of her neck. Nobody ever did any bloodwork, aspirations or anything. The dr. in urgent care looked at it, told her it was a cyst and gave her a script for antibiotics. It happened again in February. She was sent to a dermatologist, an ob-gyn, and finally a plastic surgeon, who was going to remove it.
The day after seeing the plastic surgeon, the lump in her neck literally disappeared, and the one behind her ear popped up and was very painful. Since she already had the surgery date, the dr. took out the lump behind her ear-the lymph node.

So there you have it. She's out getting her medical records and she has an appointment with an oncologist next Thursday for the 2nd opinion. Please continue praying for her until she has some resolution.

Thank you everyone for rading this far................
