TOPIC: The Prayer List

Re: The Prayer List 10 Jun 2012 23:02 #82257

Frances, thanks for the update. Dalton must be a remarkable young man! I will add his platoon to my prayer list. We should all pray for all our service men and women regularly, but i must admit I forget. Isn't that horrible! They risk everything for us and I can't remember to pray for them every day. Hoping to change that about myself. Thanks to Dalton for reminding us.

Wanted to give you all an update on Dalton. He is out of ICU and was able to get outside for some fresh air. He told a relative to "not waste your prayers on me I Am Fine. Pray for my platoon still over there". We are all so glad he is making such remarkable progress and know that it is because of all of the prayers for him. Please keep Dalton and 2nd Platoon, B-Co, 4-23 Infantry in your prayers. They all certainly need them.
Brandi and I are going down to San Antonio on Tuesday to visit everyone before my sister and her husband go home.

Update on our DD, Keri. Apparently, everything was contained within the lymph node. She does have to go back for a full body scan in July, but the doctor doesn't see any need for worry. Meanwhile, she and a friend left for Ireland last night; not for the quilt festival, a bus tour around the country.

My heart hurts for all the pain my TQS friends are going through. May God bless you and keep you all.

Prayers for the families that have lost a loved one and for all of the other needs, especially the young people.

My grandson's procedure went well and he doesn't have to do it again for 2 years, next time in the doctor's office since he was able to stay awake. The surgery that they were concerned about won't be needed.

Please pray for my sister and nephew as they start their journey from Thailand back to their new home in the states, making several stops along the way to visit family. This will be a new experience for both of them without a husband or father to share it with. They will be here for a week the end of the month.

Graduating from school/college is a milestone in a young person's life and losing a parent a day or shortly before it must be absolutely devastating for that son or daughter. Am saying prayers for the young people and their families who are going through such a tragic loss right now.

Say a prayer please for the Lane family. Mattie (my youngest daughter) has been friends with the oldest daughter since kindergarten. Her daddy died this afternoon and HS graduation is tomorrow. He has been battling cancer for quite a while and had been doing well until very recently. He was at church on Sunday and woke from a nap later that afternoon in incredible pain..Now just 4 days later he's passed on. I feel so badly for this family. Even knowing that he had a personal relationship with the Lord and is no longer in pain, I just can't imagine the pain his family is in right now. Graduation should be such a happy time. Mattie also has another friend at school who lost his father a couple of months ago very suddenly. I'm just saying a special prayer for all of the kids everywhere who may be facing this momentous occasion without both parents present.

Have been away for a while "taking care of business" and am catching up with all of your prayer requests. My goodness, how life keeps going on! Am praying for everyone's requests and that God brings comfort to you, your families, and friends. How comforting it is to check in to this online family of loving and caring quilters. This is a very special place for all of us. Many thanks to Mary Kay who made the original request to form this Prayer List. God's love is definitely felt here.

Margarita, my heart goes out to you, Emily and Dalton. My sincere condolences to those of you who have recently lost loved ones. Praying for all of you.

Hugs,
Shirley
