OH MY WORD THAT CUTTING FOR THAT QUILT AROUND THE WORLD, ALL AT ONCE. That would make me nuts and sore. I probably would have given up after the128  No though seriously I know it sounds like a lot but then when you get it together it hardly looks like anything. Anything but beautiful. People really do not realize just how much goes into a quilt. Keep up the good work maybe today make it a brainstorming day and give your hand a rest. Or not Rachel Good luck

Yesterday I had a Tilde moment: I hadn't gotten a chance to sew much yesterday so I took my hand embroidery blocks with me to the "opera in the park" performance. We had little picnic sitting on the grass, and then I got out my embroidery. After it got too dark to see, I switched on the little ear-clip lamp and the book light clipped to my hoop. I got an entire small block finished as I enjoyed the beautiful music!

I am so happy so many of you enjoying the TILDE THREAD. I did not even consider that it would be intrepted as a sewing thead.... must be the computer age I automatically thought of a thread on a message board when I selected the title to my topic.

I have not posted much this week ... too tired from work and not much sewing.... a lot of quilt thinking.... and of course going to my guild meetings... they all seem to come at the same time. I have also been fighting with my internet provider. They were talkamerica and switched to CAVTEL and is in the process of changing everything. I HATE IT half the time I can not connect .. they have been shutting down service at night when I get to post.... I can not find my email.

COMPUTER ISSUES ASIDE....

I did get my quilt top put together last weekend I am currently thinkng about borders.

I worked on my American Sampler blocks (BOM) for next session... we are currently working on applique hearts. We are working our way through FONS AND PORTERs QUILTER's Guide.

Last night I went to BOM Grandmother's Favorite... I got my blocks cut out as I fussy cut a lot of it so it takes me longer. I will sew them together today.

I have not maintained TILDE THREAD in the strictest sence since TILDE'S belief ( Yes there is a real TILDE) is that progress is best made with a needle / thread in hand ( she was a hand stitcher)

I personlly believe that ANY SEWING is better then NO SEWING... and time spent designing and thinking about your project should count... fabric is too precious to waste... hasty cutting leads to mistakes.... so all is acceptable on this thread.

This is an interesting thread. have been following it since the beginning. Yesterday I did 2 paper pieced blocks, have to do a little applique on them, then I have to decide how to set them in a little wall hanging. It was my small guild group workday.

Today, no sewing, but went on a field trip with my mini group. Went to a quilt shop, long arm machine shop. We got out charity "Cancer" auction quilt quilted, for the most part. One of the gals took it home to get a bit more quilted, then we have another one doing the binding. (The quilt goes to the SUTTER CANCER QUILT AUCTION.

Judy, I'm with you it took me forever to realize that there was no thread named tilda. lol  I also have several projects going and they are everywhere. By the couch, bed, car, truck, kitchen table,ect...Everyone keeps saying just get one done and move on. They don't realize if we did that we would be so bored and sick of that one and our want to do list would be way to long. There is a reason why a quilt gets done peice by peice. :D Rachel

This is a fun and inspiring thread.......I really thought it was about a new type of thread called Tilda....I am just now checking it out here. I have various projects at different points...one hand sewing project I work on early in the morning a stitch at a time and many others I work on during nap time. A little everyday completes many quilts. I imagine that is how the pioneers worked on all their quilts.

Sorry but I was laughing when I read your driving report. I can really relate though, being the one nominated to drive with all our learners. Our youngest has always had too much going on and never took the test yet so I'm still in the boat with you this summer. Hopefully this will be it. Heres to safe driving, Cheers. Karen

Cheryl that is so awesome. It looks very realistic. I bet you can not wait to see the whole thing done.

Thanks Karen. It looks like it might be the same process as your little poochie pillow. I didn't make it into the sewing room today just yet. I have been out with my son to practice driving. Not too bad. I only had one white knuckle moment when I had visions of a guard rail screeching down the side of my truck. Too Close, Too Close Too close was said very fast, and he thought I was talking about the center of the road. So after my relaxing light beer (its 5 o clock somewhere), I will go to my room and get something done.

I as long as it is quilt related and it is constructive it counts. Everyone has good days and everyone has bad days. Just don't let the bad days take over and be deconstructive. Frances I am sorry to hear that your PT appointment went so bad. Keep withit though remember that which does not kill us only makes us stronger. So if thatis the case we are going to be SUPERHEROES  Rachel

Does working on quilting designs in a sketch book count? I can't sew when I'm extremely stressed out (like now!) but sketching designs is soothing.

PS--I'll share the stress part much later, after it settles down.

Well, I didn't get any sewing done yesterday (Thursday). I had my first PT appt for my ankle and after that it was not happy so I spent the rest of the day downstairs. I did spend some time on the computer working on ideas for quilting a quilt though. Then was out late which is why it is 2:00 am and I am on line. Just getting caught up then will read to see if it helps me fall asleep.

Still working on Grandma, and she took up all my afternoon. I have posted some photos in my profile. One of the photo, and one with the fabric portait. THis is a very challenging but exciting class at QU.

This Tilda thread has been great to get me going. Even though I am not actually sewing every time, it does get me into to my sewing room no matter what, to accomplish something.
