Hi Damaris,

Isn't it great to be able to share the experience of these shows with someone special? Yesterday, I had to drag my Mom to the TV to show her the Cindy Needham episode on turning vintage linens into quilts...yes, I have some too!

She doesn't sew either, but was impressed. Oh boy, another project for my unending list......

Thanks for the Welcome
Shirley

Welcome Shirley!!

We LOVE TQS!! I got the first three DVDs, and when my daughter had her right foot surgery, we would stay up every night watching the episodes!! It was really nice spending that time with her!! She does not want to have anything to do with quilting (for now, she is fifteen), but boy, she sure enjoyed those videos!!

She will have surgery on her left foot in October, and I am hoping Season 4 DVD comes out so we can spend more "quilting time" together!!

Wanda,
Yep, you're right...it took about a week.....received it yesterday and I'm enjoying every moment so far. I've already learned so many new techniques and ideas from the first 3 shows. My head is SPINNING!

Thanks for the welcome. I agree, this is a great club to be a part of and I'm looking forward to sharing and getting to know everyone. It's true about quilters....They're a very special kind of people.

Do you have a quilt shop in Shiner? Anyone going to Houston Quilt Festival?

Shirley, welcome to TQS! You will not be disappointed with TQS. The shows are awesome. It usually does not take long at all to get orders from TQS Shoppe. I'm thinking maybe a week?!?! Have a great time in Paducah! I'm trying to make plans...
Happy quilting,

It sounds like I picked a good series for my first purchase. Can't wait to get it. I wonder how long it takes to get your order. Does it come USPS, UPS, or what?

I also looove applique...both hand and machine. I tend to stick with lap size quilts and wall hangings because I can make them faster and try more techniques.

I'm currently finishing a "Quilt Diva" hanging that has been loads of fun. If you haven't seen her, she is a real HOOT! I'll hang her in my sewing area and she'll remind me not to take myself so seriously.

My favorites are Beth Ferrier and Suzanne Marshall. I love applique in any shape, manner or form.

My favourite from Series Two is the show with Cindy Needham. The first time I saw it my jaw got lost somewhere under the sofa. :)

OK, I'm convinced! I've taken your advice and ordered my first DVD series. Chose Series 2 because it looked like it covers some topics that realy interest me.

Can't wait til it arrives....I'll turn off the phones, make some snacks, put a sign on the door, put up my feet and blissfully revel in an alternate reality for a while.

As we say here in Louisiana "Laissez les bons temps rouler" LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!!

Blessings to All

I agree with Lorchen, I highly recommend purchasing the DVD's. I often go back and watch them. Sometimes I just fast forward to whatever technique I am looking for and sometimes I rewatch the entire show because they are so enjoyable. Welcome to TQS - it is a great place!

Welcome, Shirley!

I highly recommend that you buy the dvds of past series'. They make a great library of all things quilting-related. I often treat myself to a show or two at the weekend if it rains and I'm too tired to think about playing a domestic goddess.

Have fun in Paducah. It's just a little bit far for me.

Hey Brink,

I tried to respond to your message this morning and then I noticed that it didn't appear on the thread, so I must have done something wrong.

Anyway, thanks for your response and warm welcome. It's so special to start connecting with fellow quilters all over the world. WOW, Norway, that's cool.

I'm no longer working the 9-5 routine (more like 7-6) after 35 years, got a new Bernina and sooo ready to get on with my passion.

Love and Gratitute,
Shirley in Shreveport

Thank you soooo much Alex for your response! I'm so excited that I actually received a welcome from someone who I've followed for years and admire greatly. You are an inspiration to so many and I love your positive, compassionate spirit. I have hours and hours of Simply Quilts on tape.

Love the new venue and getting to know you, Ricky and fellow quilters and participate in all the fun. FABULOUS!

By the way, made hotel reservations for Paduach and the closest hotel I found was a Holiday Inn in Sikeston, Mo (about 1 hr west). Been wanting to go there for years and now's my chance.....yippie....

Love and gratitude,
Shirley in Shreveport

Welcome Shirlm - First off , welcome to the TQS family. This site is full of places to play and hang out meeting quilters all over the world.

We offer past episodes two way - first you can purchase past episodes at a reduced price to view on line. (If a person is not an active star member - like you ARE, they do not receive star perks, like the block of the month - but they can simply view the shows). Also, after a complete series airs we put together a DVD for your personal library. We sell them to star members at 50% off (one copy each series). Right now we endeavor to keep ALL the shows you have purchased on - or as long as ARJJ (alex, Ricky Justin and John) have controlling power. HOLD ON everyone, don't freak - (but legally I needed to say that) - we aren't going ANYWHERE - you are stuck with us - LOL

Also Shirley - when we hit 50,000 members - someone will win a Bernina 730 - so help us spread the word!
