I agree with Rita, they are definitely australian birds on your rhapsody quilt Wendy.

And I am not going to start learning how to stand on my head just for your pictures either :P I never managed that or handstands at Primary, and I see no reason to learn now  (far too much like hard work)

If you go to the classrooms and click on Ricky's classes and go to the rhapsody class. In that class is the show and tell. I just saw it there yesterday. Hope that helps, cause I don't know how to add a picture on the forum.

I couldn't find the Rhapsody Quilts in Show and Tell. Can someone lead me there, please. Thanks!

I just had a look at all the entries in Show and Tell and they are all beautiful! That's one heck of a lot of applique to stitch. Cathy I can't see anything wrong with yours? Sharon do you have a photo of yours quilted, I would love to see it? Wendy, love the birds - even if they are being rather Australian!

My Rhapsody is completed too. A picture of it is in the classroom. I have screwed up my courage and submitted it to the Denver Quilt Festival held the first part of May and should hear the end of March. I love that quilt and the points actually turned out pretty dang good.

Thank you for the compliments on the quilt. Yes Sue, the quilt was very enjoyable, even those pesky corner on the center piece :D . I learned so much and will definitely make another one.
Thank you Ricky. I think you are a great teacher too. Hope you are nominated again. Third time is the charm, and all. :D

I might even have time to join in on this one! I should since I actually joined TQS because I really want to make a rhapsody quilt and they had the 2 rhapsody episodes, but I still haven't had time to design and make one.

Lois - that was very kind of you to say - and I should compliment you on your insights. Yes, it is important to be skillful, and yes, I'm very intuitive with my choices. I encourage that in others as well. For some, it's not as easy, but we work on that in my quilting retreats.

As far as teacher of the year award. I've been nominated twice. It's nice to be recognized, but the main thing is that my passion for quilting is filtering out there and that I can share it with as many people as possible.

For all of you working on your Colorful Rhapsody, we are launching another mid-summer 2014 that I like very much. Still not a BIG quilt, but has plenty of skill builders.

Looking at Ricky's tutorial I marvel at his teaching skills. It reminds me that all the caveman stuff is so much fun and so creative but it can so easily fool you into thinking it doesn't require so much skill. I believe the trick is that you have to be very skillful to know what you can get away with. Then there are the intuiative creative choices. It just isn't as easy as it looks. I am wondering, has Ricky ever recieved one of those best teacher of the year awards. He certainly should have! Thank you Ricky for all you do and sharing it so well.
